Now May Be The Perfect Time To Plan Your Ski Trip

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

Ever since the American economy bit the dust a year ago, the skiing industry has been trying to recover its footing. So far, the advance bookings indicate that this year will be a bit better. Even so, most ski resorts are not simply standing still. Instead, many resorts are beginning to offer great deals to entice skiers and snowboarders to their site. Past and potential customers are being enticed with special discount ski holiday offers, super weekend offers, and special week long ski lift deals.

For instance, look no further than Colorado’s famous Copper Mountain. This ski resort is less than three hours drive from Denver, Colorado, and one of the biggest ski areas in the state. The resort, developed in the late winter of 1972, is known for its seasonal activities. In the summer, golf and mountain bike racing are the sports of the day. In the winter, skiing and snowboarding activities take over.

As the ski and snow board mountain areas were developed and the number of runs increased and became more diverse, the surrounding resort town of Frisco gradually grew up around it. The bars, shops, and restaurants in the town are great places to visit after a day or evening on the ski slopes. And Copper Mountain is not shy about using the backdrop of the surrounding countryside as an enticement to bring in skiers.

But it’s not necessary to drive yourself to the neighboring communities to have fun, shop, buy womens snowboards, and so on. The mountain resort itself has restaurants and cafes to serve you as well. You can relax and watch as the skiers and snowboarders cascade down the mountain sides as you sip your hot cocoa and take in the majestic outdoor scenery through the large glass cafe window panes.

If you’re longing for a winter vacation or learn to snowboard, but haven’t gone in the past because of the high prices, you might want to check the prices of current ski lodgings. You will probably pleasantly surprised.

If you are more interested in seeing the warm, green summer, you can pack lighter, but make sure to bring some warm clothes. The weather tends to be chill and damp here at unexpected times.
